No Pain … and No Gain

Cherie Hitchens reports she can run again after completing the 90-day challenge; losing 2.5 inches in her measurements was the cherry on top!

Have you had any physical struggles? Has Modus helped?
For years I have been a runner. It’s not that I love running but I love running with my friends. It’s always been my social time.

However, over the last year I have had a lot of hip and IT pain after I would run. I would limp around for a day or two after a 3-to 4-mile run. I thought my running days were over.

However, I have slowly started up again and I feel great! Now even after a six-mile run, there’s no pain! Modus has really strengthened my core, hamstrings, and quads.

What benefits have you noticed?
So far I’ve lost 1.5 inches in my waist and an inch in both my thighs and hips! These are definitely my trouble areas and I was very happy to see a difference there.

What’s next for you from a wellness perspective?
My next goal is to trim down even more. However, I know from past experience, I not only need exercise, but I need to change my diet.

Overall, I eat fairly healthy. However, it’s time to go hard core and start following all the rules of clean eating.

What kept you motivated to keep coming?
The free bag! Kidding. On Wednesdays, it was my friends. Knowing that after class we would grab coffee and catch up.

Besides that, it was just feeling the accomplishment of completing a challenge. No one wants to be a quitter.

What was challenging about the challenge?
Everything! But that’s what I like about it!

The instructors always mix it up a little. You feel like your muscles are being challenged during every class. I haven’t had a day yet where I said “Boy, that was easy!”

What did you enjoy?
I definitely enjoy feeling like I had a good workout for the day. There’s nothing like going to the 8am class and knowing that you’ve done your body some good by 9am.

Besides that, I love the people. Both the instructors and participants are so nice. Everyone’s always in a good mood.

Any advice for people beginning their own wellness journey?
Find what motivates you. Whether it’s your friends, a challenge, or a race you’ve always wanted to do, find something that you are truly excited about and the rest will come easy.
