Meet Your Teacher: Mel Jones

Madelaine “Mel” Jones not only cracks the whip in class, she’s also known for cracking her students up from time to time with her quick wit and big smile.
The busy mother of three has lots of extended family support, given that she is the eleventh child of 13 kids, a fact that never ceases to amaze those who hear it for the first time.

What do you love about Modus? I love be the people that come and work their butts off with me. I tell them all of the time that they are often the highlight of my day! I also love it when they see the changes in their bodies that come with consistent Modus classes!

What’s your favorite Modus move? The “sink down-scoop it up” we do in thigh; I love how it gets right into your glutes, hips, and of course your thighs.

What’s your life like outside of Modus? I have three great (and active) kids and love doing anything with them. I also work as the iPad coordinator at St. Francis High School; I love that as well. The kids are amazing and only surpassed by the awesomeness of the staff I’m so fortunate to work with every day.

Anything we might not know about you? Modus folks may not know that my real name is Madelaine. “Mel” came from “melancholy baby,” a nickname my brothers gave me. (Melancholy? Hard to believe, I know.)
